Chébé, honestly

Chébé comes from Chad, where Basara Arab women have long coated and braided their lengths to protect them from breakage. We use it in our Chébé Butter to honor that ritual — not to promise miracles. Smooth it onto lengths and ends, not the scalp.

In their own words.

Answers before you choose.

What should I use on my two-, three- or four-year-old?

Choose by need: Detangling Spray adds slip for knots; Chebe Butter helps seal moisture into dry strands and ends; Baby Oil provides oil care for hair. A child with fine hair may need much less than a child with dense hair. Review the ingredients and directions, and start with a small amount of one suitable product. Lavender Fenugreek Oil is also an option for toddlers and children; follow its label directions.

Can I use these products on my baby?

Check each formula and its directions. Baby Oil has no essential oils, but this is not a blanket newborn-safety claim for the range. For a newborn, premature baby or an existing skin condition, ask your pediatrician before starting. Introduce one suitable product at a time. Patch test before first use and stop if irritation occurs.

Does Baby Oil treat cradle cap?

Our products are cosmetic hair care, not cradle-cap treatments. Baby Oil contains olive oil; NHS guidance advises against olive oil for cradle cap. Ask your pediatrician or pharmacist which scalp care is suitable. Do not pick or scrape crusts. Seek medical advice for swelling, bleeding, leaking fluid or persistent symptoms.
