Babies & little ones

When can I start using products on my baby?

Check each label and ask your pediatrician before starting. The Baby Oil, Chébé Butter and Shampoo are labelled for use once the cord area has healed. Introduce one product at a time and patch test first. Use tiny amounts and keep products away from the eyes and face.

How often should I wash my baby’s hair?

Wash when the hair or scalp needs it, using a small amount of shampoo and rinsing well. You do not need to add products every day. Ask your pediatrician about washing frequency if your baby’s scalp is irritated or has a skin condition.

What is cradle cap, and what should I do?

Cradle cap is common flaking in little ones. Our products do not treat it. Wash gently, never pick or scrape, and ask your pediatrician if it spreads, looks irritated or does not improve. The Baby Oil contains olive oil: keep it on the hair, not flaky areas. Your pediatrician can advise on suitable scalp care.

Which products are safe at which age?

Check the product’s For line, age note and full ingredients. Conditioners are for ages 2+. Lavender Fenugreek is for ages 3+; skip it for sensitive scalps. Peppermint Bhringraj is for teens and adults only. Ask your pediatrician before starting baby products, and patch test the Detangling Spray first.

How much product should I use on a baby?

Start with a drop or two of oil, or a fingertip trace of butter on the hair lengths and ends. Warm it in your hands so it spreads lightly. Add more only if hair still feels dry. Avoid the face and follow the product label; ask your pediatrician before starting.

Length & breakage

Why is it difficult to keep my length?

Breakage can make it difficult to keep your length. Moisture, gentle detangling and low-tension styling help protect the hair you have. If shedding is sudden or patchy, ask a dermatologist.

How do I keep my length?

Keep the hair lightly damp before layering care, detangle gently from the ends upward, and protect the ends from friction and tight styles. A little butter on the lengths and ends helps seal in moisture. Use less on fine hair and avoid adding layers when hair already feels coated.

What is Chébé, and how do I use it?

Chébé is part of a Chadian length-protection ritual. Our Chébé Butter helps seal moisture into hair lengths and ends. Warm a small amount between your palms and smooth over lightly damp hair. Keep it off the scalp, especially flaky areas, and follow the label.

How does Chébé support length retention?

Chébé is used in a length-retention ritual. Our Chébé Butter helps seal in moisture and supports gentler handling of your lengths and ends.

Mom’s hair

Is shedding after baby normal?

Shedding after baby is common and usually temporary. Our products do not stop shedding; they help you handle hair gently and reduce avoidable breakage. Choose loose styles and detangle without pulling. See a dermatologist if shedding is sudden, patchy or concerning.

Can I use these while pregnant or breastfeeding?

Check each current product label and ingredient list with your doctor. Peppermint Bhringraj and Lavender Fenugreek contain essential oils; Chébé Butter contains vanilla essential oil. The quiz can filter products with essential oils, but it does not replace advice from your doctor or assess allergies.

How do I care for thinning edges?

Reduce tension first: loosen tight braids, buns or extensions and avoid styles that hurt. Handle the hairline gently and use a little butter only on hair ends. Our products do not treat shedding. See a dermatologist for patchy, sudden or persistent thinning.

Scalp & moisture

Why is my scalp dry?

Dryness can have different causes, including buildup, irritation or a scalp condition. Cleanse gently and avoid layering products onto an uncomfortable scalp. Our products are cosmetic hair care, not treatments for scalp conditions. Ask a dermatologist, or your pediatrician for a child, if flaking or irritation continues.

Why does my hair feel dry even after oiling?

Oil helps seal in moisture; it does not replace water. Start with clean, lightly damp hair, then add a small amount of oil or butter. If hair feels coated, cleanse before adding more. Use less on fine hair and focus on dry lengths and ends.

Oil vs butter — which do I need?

Oil gives a lighter finish and shine. Butter gives a richer layer that helps seal moisture into lengths and ends. Start with a little of one product and add the other only if needed. Fine hair often needs less; thick or dense hair may need more.

Every hair type

Will it work on my hair type?

Our products are made for straight, wavy, curly, coily hair and locs, across the family. Adjust the amount to your hair: less on fine or short hair, more on thick or dense hair. Check each product’s audience, age note and directions before choosing.

How do I use it on locs?

Keep care light to avoid residue. Cleanse and rinse thoroughly, let locs dry fully, and smooth a little oil along dry lengths as needed. Use butter sparingly on dry ends rather than packing it into locs. Pause layering if hair feels coated.

How do I use it on fine or straight hair?

Start with one drop of oil, warmed between your palms and smoothed over the ends. Add only if needed. Use a rice-grain amount of butter only on dry ends, or skip it if hair feels weighed down. Keep your usual gentle cleansing routine.
